In this episode:
It’s another episode of the Action Points Podcast! I talk about making my own copy of Love Letter (there are some photos I put up on Instagram here, here and here), and we also catch up on some web animated series that we watched: Deep Space 69 and Bravest Warriors. Evan and I also talk about finally watching Arrested Development, in preparation for the release of the 4th season and I also finally finish Better Off Ted. Tichu gets a brief mention as another game that I made my own fake version of (Fichu). We also discuss the pilot for Steven Universe, which is no longer on YouTube but it was pretty great, you guys! We talk about its connection to the crew behind Adventure Time, and I reminisce about RPG World, since the author, Ian Jones-Quartey, worked on both Adventure Time and Steven Universe. There’s a brief discussion about the crossover of webcomics artists into other more “traditional” media, and how internet and video game culture has influenced other media. Evan rants about the terrible scantily clad corpses and other perceived sexist undertones in Resident Evil: Revelations. Daniel tells us about Ingress, the Augmented Reality Game he’s been playing on his phone and all around the city, which leads to a short rant on Candy Crush Saga and freemium games. I also give very short and largely uninformative reviews of a couple of Adventure Time related comics: Playing With Fire by Danielle Corsetto and Zack Sterling (who drew one of the best Finn faces ever), and Marceline and the Scream Queens by Meredith Gran. There’s also a tiny (itty-bitty) bit of fanboying about the return of Community and the possibility of Dan Harmon returning to the show. Evan also manages to squeeze in a second rant about OreImo (Season 2) trolling the viewers. And that’s all for this week’s show!
